General questions
- Do you charge a service call fee?
- No. Your service call is free. The technician diagnoses the door at no charge, gives you a flat repair quote, and work only begins after you approve it.
- How do you price garage door repairs?
- Every repair starts with a free diagnosis. Once we know the problem, we give you a flat price for parts and labor. There is no hourly meter, and no work starts without your approval.
- Do you offer same-day service?
- Yes. We answer the phone 24/6 — fri half day, closed sat and hold slots each day for emergencies like a car trapped inside or a door stuck open.
- How far do you travel?
- Atlanta plus a 80-mile radius. That covers Cobb, Fulton, Gwinnett, DeKalb, Cherokee, Forsyth, Henry, Clayton, Douglas, Fayette, Coweta, Paulding, Bartow, Barrow, Newton and Rockdale counties.
- Is a broken spring dangerous to replace myself?
- Yes — torsion springs store several hundred pounds of energy and are the leading cause of serious garage door injuries. Always have springs replaced by a trained technician with winding bars.
- How long does a garage door last?
- A quality steel door lasts 20–30 years in Georgia's climate. Springs typically last 7–12 years, openers 10–15 years, and rollers 5–7 years on a busy family door.
- Do you work on commercial doors?
- Yes — rolling steel doors, sectional commercial doors, loading dock equipment and high-cycle openers for warehouses, dealerships and self-storage facilities.
- Should I repair or replace my garage door?
- Repair when the door structure is sound and one system failed. Replace when there is rust-through, multiple cracked sections, repeated failures, or when you want insulation and a modern look for resale.
- Do you offer warranties?
- Every job includes a parts and labor warranty. Length depends on the component — high-cycle springs and openers carry the longest coverage. The exact terms are written on your invoice.
- What payment methods do you accept?
- Cash, all major credit cards and financing on qualifying installations. Payment is collected after the work passes the safety test with you present.
- Can you match a door to my HOA requirements?
- Yes. Many metro Atlanta subdivisions specify panel style and color. Send us the HOA guidelines and we'll quote compliant options from Clopay, Amarr and C.H.I.
Garage Door Repair
- How fast can you get here?
- Most metro Atlanta addresses get a same-day window, and true emergencies (car trapped, door stuck open) are prioritized.
- Do you charge a service call fee?
- No — your service call is free. The technician diagnoses the door at no charge, and the repair quote is flat and approved by you before any work begins.
- Can you repair any brand?
- Yes — Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Overhead Door, C.H.I., LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie and more.
Spring Repair
- Should I replace one spring or both?
- Both. The second spring has the same cycle count and typically fails within months, costing you another visit.
- How long does spring replacement take?
- Usually 60–90 minutes including balancing and a full safety check.
- Are high-cycle springs worth it?
- For doors used more than four times a day, yes — they often last two to three times longer for a modest upcharge.
Opener Repair
- Is it worth repairing a 15-year-old opener?
- Often not. Units older than about 12 years lack rolling-code security and modern safety features; we'll show you the math.
- Do you program remotes and keypads?
- Yes, including MyQ, HomeLink and universal remotes.
- Why does my door reverse for no reason?
- Usually misaligned or dirty safety sensors, or a force setting that drifted. Both are quick fixes.
Opener Installation
- Which brand do you install?
- Primarily LiftMaster and Chamberlain, with Genie available on request.
- Do I need battery backup?
- In Georgia, yes — it's genuinely useful during storm outages and is required on new installs in some jurisdictions.
- Can you use my existing rail?
- We install complete new systems; reusing an old rail voids the manufacturer warranty.
New Door Installation
- How long does installation take?
- A standard two-car door is typically 4–6 hours. Two doors take most of a day.
- What insulation value should I get?
- For attached garages in Georgia we recommend R-12 or higher; detached shops can use non-insulated.
- Do you haul away the old door?
- Yes, removal and disposal are included in every installation quote.
Cable Repair
- Can I use the door until you arrive?
- No. Operating a door with a failed cable frequently bends tracks and cracks panels.
- Why did the cable snap?
- Usually rust from humidity, a worn drum edge, or a door that was out of balance for months.
- Is this the same as a spring repair?
- Different part, related system. We inspect springs at the same visit since they wear together.
Roller & Track Repair
- How much quieter are nylon rollers?
- Most customers describe the difference as dramatic — the roller rumble largely disappears.
- Can bent track be repaired?
- Sometimes. If the bend is sharp or the track is spread, replacement is the only lasting fix.
- How often should rollers be replaced?
- Steel rollers every 5–7 years; quality nylon rollers often last 10+.
Panel Replacement
- Will the new panel match my faded door?
- Painted finishes fade over time. We're upfront when a slight color difference is likely.
- How long to get a panel?
- Stock sections often ship in 1–2 weeks; discontinued profiles can take longer or be unavailable.
- Is insurance likely to cover it?
- Vehicle impact and storm damage frequently are. We provide itemized documentation.
Off-Track Door Repair
- Is this an emergency?
- If the door is stuck open your home is unsecured — we treat that as a priority call.
- Can I just push it back in?
- Please don't. Off-track doors carry uneven spring load and can fall.
- Will my door be damaged?
- Often the sections are fine if the door wasn't forced. We'll assess before quoting.
Emergency Repair
- Do you charge more at night?
- After-hours calls are quoted before we dispatch, with no surprise charges. We never add a fee after the fact.
- What are your actual hours?
- 24 hours Sunday through Thursday, Friday until midday. We are closed Saturday.
- How far do you travel for emergencies?
- Up to 80 miles from Atlanta, though arrival windows are longer at the edge of the radius.
Maintenance & Tune-Up
- How often should I schedule this?
- Once a year for typical use, twice for doors cycled many times daily.
- What can I do myself?
- Wipe the tracks clean, keep the photo eyes clear, and run the 2x4 reversal test monthly.
- Do you offer service plans?
- Yes — annual and biannual plans that include priority scheduling and repair discounts.
Commercial Doors
- Do you service multi-location property managers?
- Yes — we handle portfolios with consolidated invoicing and per-door service history.
- Can you provide COI documentation?
- Yes, certificates of insurance are available before work begins.
- Do you install high-speed doors?
- We service and install a range of commercial systems; call with your specs and we'll confirm fit.
Custom Door Design
- How long does a custom garage door take?
- Most custom builds run several weeks from approved design to installation, depending on material and glass. We give you a firm timeline at quote time.
- Can you match my front door or trim color?
- Yes — we do custom paint and stain matching, plus wood species selection for cedar, mahogany and hemlock doors.
- Do you handle oversized or arched openings?
- Yes. Non-standard widths, heights, arched tops and low-headroom conversions are a core part of our custom work.
- Is there a charge for the design consult?
- No. The on-site consultation, measurements and design proposal are free.
